Veneers

Improving your smile’s appearance can be done in different ways. One option is a veneer. A veneer is a shell of tooth-colored material that is custom made for each tooth. Veneers can change the size, length, shape, or color of a tooth and are made of different tooth-colored materials, depending on patient desire.

Veneers look like natural teeth and are used to fix chipped or worn teeth, misshapen teeth, stains, or gaps between teeth.

Veneers are in two different materials. One is porcelain, and the other is composite resin. Dr. Alvarez will help you to decide which veneer is best for your needs.

Porcelain materials are harder to stain, are strong, and last a long time. Another advantage of porcelain is that it requires less tooth enamel to be removed than a cap or a crown.

Composite resin is a tooth-colored material that is bonded directly onto the tooth. It also takes less tooth enamel removal than caps or crowns but can be applied in fewer visits to the dentist, usually just one. Composite veneers are not quite as strong as porcelain ones but provide a less expensive restoration. They are easier to fix if they get damaged.
